Christina Perri on Her “Lovey-Dovey” Breaking Dawn Track
Oct 21st, 2011 | By Stefanie | Category: Featured Articles, Movie News, MusicWe’ve heard it before, but it’s nice to be reminded of how big a Twilight fan Christina Perri actually is. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Breaking Dawn soundtrack artist she talks about the shock of having her song on the soundtrack, “being a super geek” for Twilight, and the upcoming Breaking Dawn Cast and Concert Tour:
For admitted Twihard Perri, who wrote ‘A Thousand Years,’ the second single off the soundtrack, it’s a dream come true. ‘I’m still in shock,’ she tells The Hollywood Reporter. ‘I’ve been a huge fan of the books, movies and the soundtracks so I was really honored to be considered.’
Perri says she was inspired to write the song ‘A Thousand Years’ after screening an early version of Breaking Dawn. ‘I cried the whole time, then I went home and wrote the song about Edward and Bella and their love affair. It’s probably the most romantic, lovey-dovey song I’ve ever written.’
Taking her fandom to the next level, Perri recorded the track (at L.A.’s NRG Studios and producer and co-writer David Hodges’ home) on Edward and Bella’s wedding date, August 13. ‘That’s just me being a super geek,’ she says, pointing out that it wasn’t a specific scene that brought the song to life, but the emotions. ‘It’s about a feeling — the wedding and the honeymoon inspired the romantic super-loving vibe.’
