The 2012 MTV Movie Awards nominations were just posted and it’s slim pickin’s this year for Breaking Dawn Part 1. Here’s the (very short) list of nominations for Breaking Dawn Part 1:

Best Kiss–for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Oh, you thought I was joking when I said it was a short list? Not so much. A whole two nominations!

To put this into perspective, Eclipse was nominated for eight–count them, EIGHT–movie awards last year. New Moon was nominated for 4 in 2010 and Twilight for 8 in 2009.  So TST readers, what do you think of this news? Do you think that Twilight interest is waning and that’s the cause for so few nominations? Maybe they’re holding out for Breaking Dawn Part 2?  Do you think there’s some sneakier game afoot?
