Nikki Reed as Rosalie Hale
The most stunning of all the Cullens, Rosalie’s also the most reluctant to embrace her vampire identity. Hairstylist Thom McGuire and makeup artist Norma Hill-Patton created Reed’s look.
“Nikki wore an incredibly beautiful long wig,” says McGuire. Starting with damp hair, he set the entire head in rollers and pin curls and blew it dry. He took out the curls, brushed through them, and styled with a bit of cream. “We finished with a silky grooming serum for shine,” he says.
Hill-Patton started with olive-colored liquid foundation and topped with a coordinating powder. “Nikki has a warm skintone, so that became part of her look,” she says. For a similar effect, be sure to use matte formulas (remember: vampires don’t sweat!). Using professional stage makeup, she shaded beneath the cheekbones and along the sides of the nose to sculpt the face. “It really gave everyone a statuesque look,” says Hill-Patton. Get the same look using a flat taupe eye shadow and medium-sized brush. She swiped translucent powder across the face for an overall glow.
Hill-Patton outlined Reed’s eyes with black pencil, added a wash of lavender shadow across the entire lid, and blended dark purple shadow in the outer corners. Black mascara finished the look.
Instead of using lipstick, Hill-Patton colored Reed’s mouth with lip pencil in a coffee shade.
