Belting It Out For Billy!

We know that many of the actors in Twilight have gotten a lot of attention lately for their roles in the movie, and rightly so. But one of the stand-out performances that we here at TST have really loved is that of Billy Burke. Billy plays Charlie in the film and we really think that he deserves some love for bringing some comic relief, as well as a lot of heart, to the role.
Recently in an interview, Billy Burke was asked what he would like to say to his fans. This was his reply:
“Yes. Where are you?”
Well, we want you all to make yourselves known!
To show some recognition to this great actor, we are creating a new campaign called “Belting in Out for Billy Burke!” Since Billy was once in a band, we want to put together a video of the fans singing about all of the reasons they love him.
Here is what we are looking for:
-Create a video of you singing a few lines about why you love Billy
-Be creative, use any type of music you want; pop, rap, opera, whatever
Rules:
-Keep the video to 15 seconds or less
-Keep it clean and please be respectful
-Please limit to one entry
Please upload your videos to YouTube and send the link to kallieross@twilightseriestheories.com by December 31. We will then put all of your entries together and send it along to Billy

I think Billy Burke is PERFECT as Charlie. I usually like him in deep, forceful roles but he is great at capturing this character. Billy fans are out there! just not as loud and fangirly as the Robert fans.

After attempting to generate enthusiasm for every character in Twilight, I find it hard to muster up the effort needed to create a video for a very minor character. Let him know we all love him, in our hearts.

I loved him as Charlie. At first I was shocked because he was nothing like I pictured him from reading the book. But he did an amazing job. He was very funny in the movie, something I was not expecting.
Yes we love Billy Burke…..Loved him as Charlie and if BD is made….I can already picture him walking into the Cullen house that very first time and giving them all the once over and looking all serious and stern…but then he looks at renesmee and completely melts! He can act! And the fact that Billy hangs with Jeffrey Dean Morton only makes him hotter in my book!

I can’t sing at all so I probably won’t do this BUT Billy was Amazing as Charlie! He was funny and is the only person who made me wanna cry during the movie (when Bella was leaving). I loved Billy as Charlie. I liked his character in the movie better that I did in the book. Some of the funniest parts were his lines. I loved it when he cocked that gun and said ” bring him in”. He was great.
heh I think that if I TRY singing, he´ll become deaf and/or his ears fall off, and that would be horrible, so I´m not taking part in this campaign. But if you come up with anything else, I´ll be soooo ready. Billy rocked as Charlie and he deserves to be shown how much we love him.

Billy, your performance was pretty damn awesome. I was so heartbroken during your scene with Kristen when she leaves Forks. That moment was so poignant (as were all your other scenes as Charlie). So thank you, Mr. Burke, you have brought to life a character that didn’t have as much of a presence in the books. Keep it up, as your work is some of the more worthy stuff from the film
I loved Billy as Charlie, he was probably one of the few people I never thought twice about for the movie (as if my opinion matters, but you understand, lol). He is the exact picture I had in my head from reading the books, he also looks really good with a mustache, I think he should keep it when he can.

BILLY YOU’RE AMAZING! You make the PERFECT Charlie! You made me laugh so hard in the movie
So much attention has been paid to Robert because his character was “ideal man”. But Billy Burke is seriously gorgeous and amazingly talented. He captured the right balance of quiet, sophomore parent to teen girl, loving and present, and he threw in the hotness that made me think…hmm…..if he hadn’t played this role in the way it felt Bella’s relationship with her father was in the book, my only thought was that he seemed so young or the part. But I forgot about that as his performance was stellar and I wished there would have been more Bella/Charlie moments in the film, as in the book there are so many interactions that show his character and their relationship. (I could b thinking of the other books…). props to Billy, you were fabulous and gorgeous! U need more scenes!

I think it would be a great idea if the organizers of this show of support would also create an alternative for those of us who adore Billy Burke but can’t sing/are embarassed/don’t have video recording capabilities. Unfortunately, as creative as this idea is, it alienates a lot of Billy’s fans who would probably love to show their support in some other way.

I love ya Billy — so much that I will NOT attempt to sing or put my face on youtube. rotfl. I really do respect the job this guy did. We all loved Charlie to begin with, but he put a sweet face and added depth to the ink and paper character. Hope they keep as much of Charlie as they can in the following movie/s as Billy truly did a wonderful job.

I wish I had time to participate in this is a fantastic idea! Billy definitely deserves it… his role as Charlie in Twilight was flawless… if anybody was closest to how I imagined their characters as I was reading it, it was Billy! He better be back for New Moon & Eclipse, nobody else will do! (:

I hope they show more Billy and the humans. Why are the vampires the only ones on the magazines and the signing events. I want to see the humans. The interest in the story is the pain Bella feels to leave her human life over being with edward. Can they add more humans in the meetings. STICK TO THE BOOK!

Billy Burke was, I feel, the best actor in the entire movie!! He was very believable as Charlie and was spot on on the relationship between Charlie and Bella. He did a superb job! I am looking forward to his performance in New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. He is also pretty darn easy on the eyes!!….!!!!.
I would love to give Billy Burke all the fan love he deserves but, I don’t do videos. There is a reason actors and musicians get paid so well. Not only do they have to have talent but, the confidence required as well. I have neither. Billy performed a marvelously as Charlie and deserves all the credit we can muster. Thank you Billy!!!

I thought his casting for the role of Charlie was fabulous and one that actually fit well with my reading impressions of the character. I’m not a singer, so I’ll be passing on the video. But his role as Charlie was great and I look forward to seeing more of him in the other stories in the series.

I loved Billy Burke — I really liked Charlie in the book but Billy was INCREDIBLE! His delivery was awesome, he is so good looking as well. YEAH BILLY… sorry I am not good on camera but I still wanted him to know how much I enjoyed his performance.
Billy was amazing as Charlie I don’t think they could have found someone better because after reading twilight and the part of midnight sun he expresses the feelings that Charlie is suppose to portray amazingly! Billy definitely needs to feel the love because he needs to continue doing his part and keeping it up because the movies wouldn’t be the same with out him!
Very few men can wear a stache and make it look sexy. When I saw Billy without it, he left me torn between ‘hotter with or hotter without the stache’. Billy, you are HOT both ways! And you portrayed Bella’s dad so convincingly. Thanks for making dads in lumberjack shirts with facial hair sexy in the movie! Can’t wait for your part in the rest of the saga.

I love Billy as Charlie! He was my favorite character in the movie when it came to making me laugh! He was the perfect dad! It is a necessity to have him in the next 3 movies!!!

Billy did a great job with Charlie! I liked the character before, but Billy really brought him to life. Loved the bit with the shotgun, then the halo. Too funny! And then when Bella left, the pain was palpable.
Plus, as a 45 year old fan of the books and movie, it’s great there are a few men in this movie I don’t feel quite so weird lusting after. If I had a video camera I might sing his praises. As it is, I’ve just been taking advantage of Netflix to see as much of his past works as I can find there.
I think you brought a critical element to the character-humor of course, and the situation of a dad who has acquired a teenage daughter ..the insecurity, etc. You did a great job and I look forward to seeing your work in the future!

Uh, Billy Burke STOLE the show! Seriously, I personally love Robert Pattinson in ways that may be illegal, but Billy was the dude who ended up stealing my heart in the movie. EVERY scene he was in were the best acted scenes hands down, because him and Kristen had a great father/daughter dynamic going on. CHARLIE AND THE STACHE FOR THE WIN!
I thought Billy was great as Charlie. I especially loved the scene where he’s cleaning his gun and meets Edward officially. That scene reminded me of my own daddy. And just so Billy knows a lady I work with has him on her desktop. We love you Billy!!

I just got finished watching Twilight for the third time. Billy is awesome as Charlie. I could not imagine anyone else doing it like he does. Love the website. You could always sing a song to I love rock and roll…..change the lyrics.

I was so excited when I read this. I sat down and wrote a little rap - it came out pretty good, but I couldn’t find the time to record myself singing it. Finally, when I got the time, I came down with laryngitis and couldn’t even speak! Now I feel terrible about it - if there is any way to send it to him, I would love to know how! Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
