New Moon Taglines?

IMDB has a list of New Moon taglines on their site. Now, I don’t know if these are official, but what do you think of them? Are there certain lines from the book, or ones you made up, that you think would be a better tagline?

Wow, i really like them all. If they are the official taglines then they will be perfect.
I like “It will be as though I never existed” it burns a little bit in a way. It makes you think about it a little more
I love all of them.. Except for “Love bites back”. That one is a little tacky. My favorite one is, “When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?”
That one gave me chills.
my friend came up with “After every New Moon a Sun rises”. Jacob being the the sun and Edward leaving being the New Moon.

I love “Forbidden to Remember; Terrified to Forget.” It fits the theme of the movie so perfectly.
I like the first, second, and third taglines. “Love Bites Back” sounds really dumb to me. And I don’t see a real connection with “somewhere, a clock is ticking”, its too figurative. : )

i love the 1st 3 and over on one of the livejournal community posts ( i think it was on lion_lamb) someone pointed out the link with the the 3rd one and the snow partrol song of the same name which i loved. the other 2 aren’t as great in my opinion. the 4th one is trying just to play off one of the tags from the 1st movie and love bites is such a cliche.
i say the 1st 2 at the best cause they are really dramatic as well as linking to the book too

Forbbiden to remember, terrified to forget! thats the best one..its in the book and i think it captues the essence of what new moon is about. Ultimatly bella has to make a life without edward. this is the most human esperience she can have. hearbreak and the prospect of moving on! this is what torments her trough out the first part of the novel before she somewhat adapts to life with out her true love.
“Forbidden To Remember, Terrified To Forget”
It really makes my spine crawl, and I think it has the whole concept of New Moon written into it. Bella doesn’t want to forget Edward, but she has to if she ever wants to go through with her life. Plus it’s also a quote from the book, which makes it all the more amazing. I think it would look great on teh cover of the DVD Xd. sheesh, thinkinga bout the DVD makes me REALLY want the movie. Well, moving on. I love this quote, but my second pick is:
“When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?”
It really brings Jacob into the picture. It realizes hima nd makes people, who haven’t read the books, think “Oh? Is there someone else?” Perks their ears and gets them interested. And I love Jacob XD. It also works with the Twilight tagline, “When you can live forever, what do you live for?” Okay, I think I’m done now!

I always pictured “forbidden to remember, Terrified to forget” as a tagline since the first time I read it in New Moon (pg 117)

And the quote is perfect for new moon.. I mean, you remember in the start of twilight bella says.. “‘I’ve never given much thought of how I was gonna die.. blablabla..” and that would be the perfect first quote for her.. In new moon..!

“Forbidden to Remember; Terrified to Forget” is the best!!! While reading New Moon, I always thought this was a great line and it sums up New Moon pretty well. Not to mention, it was actually IN the book so that would be great. LOVE this line!!
second pick would have to be: “When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?” This is a really good tagline because it follows the Twilight movie tag line trend (When you can live forever, what do you live for?) but it was not my first pick because it was not an actual line in the book and although the Twilight tagline wasn’t actually in the book, it would be awesome to have one originally thought up by Stephenie Meyer.

i heard “It will be as if I never existed,” but it isn’t my favorite. i totally agree with Kara Cullen about everything she said, though i like “When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?” better than “Forbidden to remember, terrified to forget”. but i don’t like “Love bites back.” it’s cliched and tacky.

it makes perfect sense with the book and would draw TONS of non-readers to wonder what it means
🙂 overall they are all amazing, but love bites back just doesn’t have the same appeal as the others do. its good but its cliche and seems like the name of a soap opera or a of a cheesy romance novel-one that 11-year-olds would read. lol

I agree with almost everyone that the “love bites back” one is dumb. I love the one about loving the one who loves you. that’s soooo good. I think it captures the feeling of NM perfectly. And “Forbidden to Remember; Terrified to Forget” totally gave me chills too but I don’t really love it for the official tagline. And of course Edward’s line about not existing is so sad and so perfect. I like it because if you don’t know what happens, (does anyone not know what happens? lol), then it could sound really cold. AH I can’t choose they’re all too good!
“Somewhere a clock is ticking…” is excellent. It fits in with the entire series.
1. Twilight: Bella hurries to save her mother in time
2.New Moon: Bella races against time to save Edward
3.Eclipse: Bella is actually counting down the seconds till she becomes a vampire
4.Breaking Dawn: Bella is waiting for the Volturi to show their ugly faces
I like the fourth one because it is similar too the twilight tagline
i think all of them except the “love bites back” are perfect for the tagline..the “forbidden to remember” one gives me cold chills everytime.and of course the “it will be as though i never existed” one cuts deep.i am so excited for new moon. im reallly excited to see how chris does with this one..and i cant wait to see taylor shirtless for practically the whole movie!!!im going to need to bring a whole box of tissues to the theatre. i already know im going to be crying like a baby!!!!

they cant leave that line out. Its etched into peoples skin, the same way “The lion fell in love with the lamb” is from twilight.
I also like the “when you cant be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?” because it fits so well with “when you can live forever, what do you live for?” from Twilight.
I think if Vanessa Hudgens gets the part of Leah it should be “Warewolves everywhere, wave your hands up in the air.”

Forbidden to Remember; Terrified to Forget.- I really like this too. It’s one of Bella’s I’m-Gonna-Be-Mopey quotes, so it fits.
Somewhere, a clock is ticking.- this is freaking made of awesome! It would be my favorite, excpet it makes it so the movie is about the Volturi, when I think nothing should be just about them. They are just kind of annoying to me. Idk. New Moon’s tagline should be Jacobish

That is basically what New Moon is about… it’s like saying if bella can’t be with edward should she be with jacob.

Unreal taglines! yup, like everyone-
‘Forbidden to Remeber, Terrified to Forget’ is genius, straight out the book and is the essence of New Moon.
‘Somewhere, a Clock is Ticking’ is great also, as you guys have pointed out.
‘It will e as though I never existed’…ok, this is a tough one. All though this is true to the story, alot of people won’t like this one because it hurts- I don’t know if anyone else felt heartbroken when reading that part in New Moon, or was it just me?!
‘When you can’t be with the one you love, will you stay with the one who loves you?’ is kind of too complicated to be a tag line, but it’s still good; it follows the same pattern as ‘if you can live forver, what do you live for?’ for Twilight, as someone else pointed out.
I really think that they sould also do another tagline- something really vague and mysterious like ‘Nothing will be the same’ for Twilight. All I can come up with is ‘Sides will be chosen’ or ‘Choose yor side’- but they’re awful, sorry!
‘Love Bites Back’ is too corny and too obvious.
As for the promo picture, I think it’s really cool; I think that Edward is all eerie-looking beause he’s not really there- it’s like Bella’s remembering him.
