Volvo’s Lost in Forks Campaign

Volvo has a new game called “Lost in Forks” on their website. By trying to reach the Cullen’s house in the shortest number of forks in the road, you can be entered to win a Volvo like the one Edward drives in Eclipse (Volvo XC60)! Click here to play!
I mapped it out and got 11 forks last week and I’ve been obsessed with trying to find a shorter route. I have found most of the clues except Bella’s backpack and Jacob’s house. I’m starting to think I’m seeing things so I wanted to put this out there and see if anyone else has noticed. The fork scene that I labeled the “forest” the one with the footprints, I have seen the 3 fork utensils on the right path on the edge. 1 gold and the other two a pewter color. The light that shines and radiates across the path with the 1 set of footprints originates from what looks like a triangle that doesn’t belong. To the right of that there is the number 3 on the tree and its green. Below that there is a statue that looks like it has a bear face. If you scroll to the far left of the screen there is another statue that is facing you that has a bear like face. There is a tree that looks like there is a face carved in it on the path with the two set of footprints. At Bella’s house it looks like someones face in the bottom floor left window. It also looks like there is a face in Edward’s car. I’ve seen a glowing tree on the “campsite sign” scene, but I yet to see 3 vertical things Alice has mentioned and I sat there for almost an hour and I watched the mist or fog (what ever you want to ca start on the right and travel down the road toward the glowing tree crossing the road and make its way to the left of the campsite sign and it just stays there.
same here KH. have you tried doing it drunk? it may help…I’m about to test this theory

I too, have been looking for Alice’s ‘clues’. I have lightened, darkened, zoomed every inch of every screen and have yet to find what she is talking about. As far as the forks, I suppose if you stare at something long enough, you can convince yourself of it. I have clicked on every spot imaginable at the Campsite sign, trying to get it to take me somewhere other than what I refer to as “skidded gravel” or “red ribbon”. I have yet to end up somewhere else. I also have stared at the rocks at LaPush for a long time, and clicked on every inch of them, enlarged them, lightened them, etc. There are some weird shapes there in the rocks, but I haven’t been able to pick out any words. I guess I am just a skeptic. If she would tell us EXACTLY where to click to make us ‘jump’ to a new location, I might try to waste more of my time on this. I have already spent hours, and I do mean HOURS trying to find Bella’s backpack, Jacob’s house, the treaty and a sign that says something about Ice Cold Drinks. I have yet to find them. I have made it to the Cullen’s in 11 forks. I have tried everything else I possibly can. All I want to know is, IS IT POSSIBLE TO REACH IT IN LESS THAN 11 FORKS. If so, no one has to share how they did it, but PLEASE take a screen shot of the Cullen house where it tells you how many forks it took. I would really like to know whether I should continue to waste time on this or not!

I checked out Wolfpack18’s clues from the other site. He/she is correct as I’ve been stating. Clues are in the pictuers not the map. By was of an example and using HIS clues (not mine)) to coorroborate what I’ve been saying his/her first several clues are obvious (bed and mattresses) you go right to the shops. Every dog has his day, you go left to the dog sign. Oh and by the way, nobody ever said it wsa Edward who was lost in Forks so I don’t know why people are assuming you should avoid anything Edward would! Anyway, Love is the way, the house with Edward’s birthday inverted 206. Look for the yards, well you can take that a few ways but I took it as how they sell gravel, dirt etc and went to the construction site with the bulldozer, sure enough his next clue, aka not only means also known as is right there ON the bulldozer and around it. If you look closely at the dozer bucket in the up position you can see the aka, when it moves down, the word not is formed and the remainder is along the body of the dozer and further into the back right side of the scene. At last, someone else who can actually SEE what is there and meant to be seen. Thank you Wolfpack18! A simple map is much too easy for these “contests” and as I’ve said all along just a diversion. They are not simply games, not when you’re trying to win a 46k auto.
For those who cannot see the aka not only means also known as, I saw it last night on my tiny netbook with a tiny screen and no great resolutoin OR magnification not my regular PC so I dont’ really know what to tell you.

That glowing tree IS what I’m talking about. There are three distinct symbol type objects going down the tree, not the wnole tree that glows. Sorry you can’t see the distinction. As for the fog, try looking at the road instead, that’s where “look out for yards” clue is. Hint, start at end of sentence whic his into the dirt fork on the right and look backwards. You must be patient and tickle the screen.

Thank you for the help with wolf’s clues. I admit that I wasn’t getting those either. Now, according to him, he’s been able to get his path down to nine forks. How ’bout you? In your post on the other site, you (I’m guessing that’s you, since the post is about being able to see the same things you post abt here)- state that you can’t make the trip in less than eleven forks. Is that correct?
I don’t think anyone is bothered by what you say you can see in the pictures….we (or I) just can’t seem to make them out. I do thank you again for continuing to try and explain it all. Again, have you gotten your trip down to less than eleven?
As to the post on the other site, that wasn’t me it was someone else who like me is able to see these things within the pics as well and I appreciate his/her input because then everyone doesn’ think I’m just crazy. If folks dont’ want to look for the actual clues and just want to settle on being complacent with a simple map which is far too easy for a Volvo campaign go ahead. As to your question, yes less than 11 is possible.

Not that it really matters anymore, Alice; but you’ve not stated flat out that you’ve made the trip in less than eleven forks. So, although I do appreciate the help, I don’t think you’ve figured it out any better than any of the ‘eleven forks’ folk have. Sorry.
If you ever played the Volvo Pirates of the Caribbean give aways you’d know that this is how they hide clues and they ARE difficult. I admit that not everything I’ve seen has been fruitful but at least I’m looking and I have found things. I felt the easiest way to validate my comments was to confirm them against those of someone else. I’ve shown where two of the clues are and believe me they’re there but people can’t see them usually because they’re just focused on going left or right and clicking away not waitig for the clues to develop on the screen. Have you ever seen the pics where you look at it one way and you see a vase and look another and see two people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubin_vase . It all depends on where you are focusing inside or outside of the lines, same here, sort of. You always have to look at things as having at least two meanings like the iced cold beer I mentinoed above. or like has anyone gotten into the stores. I’m sure everybody is trying to physically unlock a door or something to get into the stores. But you can still get INTO the stores visually and can see quite a bit inside if you look Wolfpack18 actually provided the clues you just have to know how to interpret them and it does help if you can actually see the clues on the screen to validate things I know. Hopefully with the dumptruck people will be able to see that. If not oh well.
And if not, I’ve already given you five of the nine if you paid attention to the above posts in order

Soooooooooo…drinking didn’t help. I’ve been doing this for 4 days! I’ve been able to find most of what Alice is talking about but still cannot get there in less than 11 turns!!!!! Is there one particular screen that is going to be the key to all of this?!?!?!
So are we to take that to mean that you need to be drunk in order to see hidden numbers and words???? heh heh… If I may ask- what exactly did you see, and how were you able to make it out… if you don’t mind sharing.
Also, and more to the point, if what you’ve stated is correct, even if everybody could find all the ‘clues’ that Alice has said she sees, it wouldn’t matter anyway, would it; cause you can’t find any less than eleven forks to get to home base……
Alice…have you gotten there in 3? I think it is possible based on the clues from wolfpack 18.

I don’t think that most others are “so quick to tell (Alice) you that you are wrong”… I have and do thank her as well. I just don’t think, based on what she’s posted, that she has found any less than eleven forks. Same’s everybody else.
I do think, however, that there IS a way to reach the house in less than eleven. I think that it can be done in 3 forks, as that particular clue suggests. (at least to me)
But, as Alice has stated, Volvo isn’t going to make it easy to do or find, If solving the clues was easy, then, obviously, everybody could do it.
Hi kim. How do wp18’s clues suggest you can get there in 3?? He says 9. I’ve seen a screen shot with 10 forks so I know my 11 is hopeless. I have looked at Alice’s breakdown of wp18’s clues but thay don’t make sense either – when I go left at the dog sign I end up at the blue bar not the 206 bungalow.
Does anyone know what a shortcut look like?
Regarding seeing a screenshot with 10 forks… it can’t be trusted. I saw where someone took Alice’s screenshot of 3 forks (not saying that she didn’t do it in 3) and photoshop the 3 to a 2 and it looks real. If other’s got it in less that 11 forks congrats to them, but I am also saying that the screenshot of the number of forks it took them can be altered too 🙁

That is not wolfpack18’s next clue… his next clue after LOVEISTHEWAY is LOOKOUTFORJACOB. Where did you get “look for the yards” from and how were you able to verify that clue with the bulldozer scene if you weren’t even quoting wolfpack18’s clues correctly? It doesn’t make any sense. You slipped up.
I have had experience with the past POTC Volvo games as well, and understand that their puzzles are quite difficult, but if I remember correctly, the first few rounds were always the easiest. It wasn’t until the 4th or 5th puzzle that they started to get very difficult. As for me, I’m sick of playing this game. I have wasted far to much time on it looking for your clues. I will admit, I was able to see some of your clues, and maybe they will be helpful in the next round. Kudos to you for finding them and hopefully they will become of use to you in the next round, but for now, I think everyone needs to chill and realize that 11 is the magic number here. And if you still are so passionate about these clues of yours, I think you should stop avoiding the question and tell us, HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO GET TO THE CULLENS IN LESS THAN 11 FORKS???
I think that it has to do with the stores….have you been able to figure them out yet?
lol, I was able to find writing on the rock at La Push from what I can tell it says “Map River”. What that means I have no clue. The only thing I could come up with was the river with Victoria hiding behind the rock. When you magnify it, you can see a wolf over to the right side. That doesn’t explain the clue though. On the first screen in the upper left corner you can make out the number 6315 (it’s in the sky by the tree line). On the page that has the overgrown paths with the footprints you can see the three forks in the bottom right side of the right path. Also, on that page just to the right of what I call the center tree you can see the words “A Tree Hole.” As far as investigating the smoke signals the only thing I nocited was what appears to be a face above the bar with the red truck outside. I had my computer hooked up to my TV and had to magnify the images to find all of this. As for the other clues Alice has given I have to assume they are all true, seeing as I was able to find the above ones. Yet, none of this has helped me get there in 11 forks. Is it possible? Who knows, maybe I’m just not smart enough to figure it all out.
There is a reflection of a building in the window of the book store, can anyone figure out what and where it is?

Let me just state again:
I don’t think Alice is wrong. If she says that she can see these clues, well, great. I just can’t make them out. And therein lies the dilemma… not too many people are going to be able to decipher the clues to be able to get less than eleven forks.
I fully appreciate that she’s trying to help. But frankly, if all these ‘clues’ aren’t getting her (or anyone else) to the destination in less than the baseline eleven turns…
In the other chatsite, at least wolf states clearly: ‘I made it in NINE.” As to whether or not he’s being truthful, well unless he posts a screenshot showing that, how can we know. However, I do thank him, as well, for posting hints.
Based on following WP18’s clues most of which I have validated I do believe it is possible to do it in 3 forks but with everybody seeming to be so nasty (except for a few) why bother you wont be able to see them anyhow apparently even when I say there are clues (almost too dark to be visible over the right upper corner of the dog food sign page and along the fence in the background, a lot on that page.)
AKA et al took me back to the stores where I Investigated everything, sandy beaches took me right back to the dog signwhich is now a florida sign where there are more clues on that page as well. Right now I’m figuring out what to do at the third fork but I doubt I’ll be posting that info except via email to those who have not been so nasty.

Whether you want to post or email further clues is up to you. You’ve stated in an earlier post that you’d email clues to those who weren’t ‘nasty’. So, please be a big girl, and live up to your word. I’m not asking for myself, cause I’m sure that I’ve fallen into the “nasty” category.
But for those who have agree with and substanciated your theories and lists of clues, I think it would be a big help.

Alice seems to know her stuff. I’m new at these post. Is Wolfpack 18 a person or a website? I have seen several people on line saying they have done it in three. Alice is that a red clue on the Restaurant sign? I have managed 11 and thought I was doing great. Then read three and almost cried. Any help is appreciated. Kinda funny that Alice knows so much, is it that she can see into the future?

Should 11 be the right number, I suggest you write down everything that stands out to you at each fork. Something tells me that this might be crucial when it comes to the second part of the contest (i.e.) Why a rebel bumper sticker on a truck in Washington State. Why is Masen truck running and have it’s back-up lights on? Both of these seemed strange and out of place to me, as well as, a few other things. Write down what you see(including weather conditions) and what you hear. Just an observation.

Eclipse was GREAT…. Mind you I haven’t read the books. Will read them after I see all the movies. Loved the Eclipse movie, they just keep getting better and better.
Would someone else take a look at the warfield where Jasper is not hidden and tell me if you see Jacob, Bella and her backpack to the left of the big rock. It really looks like that to me, but I don’t understand how to magnify that part of the picture. JJ i followed your directions for magnification for Microsoft XP, but still not quite sure how to use it. Any help appreciated.
For magnification with XP go to programs , accessories, then magnfiication. Not sure what other help you need. and no I haven’t seen any of those in the war field.
didn’t Alice say in a previous post she was using windows 7 ??? but now tell how to magnify in XP? How many different Alice people are posting here. That one post all written all in lower case where someone responded …WTH…. didn’t seem like Alice. Did it?
I’ve been working on this thing for two weeks, I mapped it.. I only have 11, and have yet to see any red sticks that you guys are talking about or anything other than the obvious clues at the bottom of the screen. I do not want to cheat, but it seems unfair that we are at a disadvantage because our systems are not topnotch. If someone would please let me know of where I could find one of these “special clues” just so I know I’m not going in circles that would be more than great.

Please help me. I have been looking for a shorter way to get to the Cullen house. You said that you found it in 9 forks? I have gotten 11 every time that I have tried to beat the game. I have tried to beat it for 10+ hours. Everytime that I think I found a shortcut, it ends up being a trap and sends me to a dead end or to the beginning of the game. My mom and I have tried to map it out but we can’t find a shorter route. I looked at the video from YouTube, but I can’t pinpoint which fork I am looking for and I have no idea how to get to them anyway. Your solution would help me so much. Stop with the map already! Follow the clues listed by Wolfpack earlier and which I addressed in earlier posts. I have finally just this morning answered the final clue “can’t argue with logic” now must figure out how to apply it which would be in 3 forks not 9.
For people who got to cullens in 14 forks and then realized they could do it in 11 they’ll understand this. Wolf’s clues will lead you to several screens twice so if you can do it in 9 you can do it in 3.
