Please, please tell me that the new movie will have a new director and that Stephanie Meyer will not compromise so much on the story!! I read the entire series in 2 weeks and was completely in love with the story and characters, but the movie, while it had some really great scenes, did not nearly live up to the story. It was disjointed, the way the actors were directed and the way it was edited, was almost comical and got a lot of laughs in the theatre–in scenes that were NOT supposed to be funny. I’d love to see this get as great as Harry Potter, as far as a movie series goes. It won’t happen with with Catherine Hartwicke. The movies will sell, but it is a huge disappointment for the discerning viewer.

  2. I agree with you kim
The movie definitly did get some laughs where they were not needed.
I want a different director that will actually stick to the book, and not change it kinda like the first kiss scene. That should have been the same in the movie as it was in the book. And the spider monkey thing, that was NOT in the book and it should have gone along with Edward tackling Bella. That was what alot of people were expecting, but no one got it. If you do direct the movie Catherine, please follow the book just a tad bit more.

I whole heartedly agree with you guys – it is scary that the New Moon script is out already being that I did not really approve of the screenwriter either.

  4. sou says:

I agree that the directing was a little off, but i thought the screen writing was okay. Yeah, i liked the movie and can’t wait for the sequal!! yay!! more kstew and rob!! <3333

  5. Amy Git r Done says:

There’s definitely going to be a bigger budget, so hopefully a little financial umph is what it needs to get the rest in place.

  6. Amanda says:

yeah, while i appreciate catherine trying, it could have been better directed
but melissa rosenburg did okay, but i think she’ll do better this time, knowing how huge the fanbase is now. and it will deff have the finacial needs taken care of. lol
but im glad the same cast will be there cause they were amazing!!

  7. ... says:

    wow
    that was fast!

  8. Madison Team Edward and Alice says:

I hope they keep Catherine Hardwick as director she was awesome

  9. Amber says:

I personally didn’t see anything wrong with the writing or directing and I hope everyone is back for the next one. :P

  10. thegratefulbrunette says:

Uhh… for people who are saying that they didn’t like the director because she didn’t stick with the book, but that they liked the screen writer- at first, the script had Bella as a track star and a whole scene that included night vision goggles! Catherine Hardwick was the one who asked for a script that was truer to the book, not the other way around.

  11. Shteff! says:

    zomg zomg zomg zomg.
    please PLEASE say its true!!
    PLEASE GOD!

  12. Jasmine says:

SWEET!!! i’M SOOOO HAPPY THAT WE DON’T HAVE TO WAIT SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!

  13. AnDrea says:

I would disagree with Kim. Catherine did an AMAZING job with Twilight, she stuck to the story, even qouted right out of the book, so i don’t understand what other type of director you would want one that doesn’t stick to the story. And as for the comical parts, it had to be comical did you not read the series???? They are highschoolers and high schoolers are funny, so it was great that it was comical it made Twilight even BETTER!!!! I don’t know if she is going to direct again for New Moon, but i think she should, she would be perfect for it.

  15. Brinkley says:

I agree. New screenwriter and director. Twilight had awkwardness that could have easily been avoided. And I do not understand why they refused to put in the little details like when Edward kisses Bella and she loses her breath. That is an essential element in thier romance, and it wasnt there. Where is the DAZZLE??? It shouldnt be soooo difficult to stick to the book 80% of the time. They could have put the kiss in the meadow where it was supposed to be, but they wanted to do their own thing, and it did not go over well with the fans. i am just very confused….. help…..

  16. Octavia Wilson says:

I think Catherine did an AMAZING job and can’t wait to see what she does with New Moon. I knew the movie and the book were going to be different. I think of them as the same story but told differently to give us the whole view of things. YAY for NEW MOON!

  17. Luna Eclipse says:

please. i was so impressed with catherine hardwike. the writing was good too, but I wish they had included the emmett/ben/edward scene in midnight sun, that would have been sweet… if there were a ben at all.

  18. Melanie says:

I disagree with anyone who is bashing the movie. Catherine did a great job, and at least the characters stick to their initial personalities. I loved the humor, too.
Did anyone else notice that Bella lost her backpack?

But anyway…why do I find this news so hard to believe? It’s been all of three days since Twilight is released…and already the New Moon script is done? That makes no sense to me. It’s too soon.

  19. Kami says:

they need to have them sign a contract for Breaking dawn. cuz that book wasn’t out when they signed the contract!

  20. klovee1901 says:

I enjoyed 13, thought it was a great movie but i did not get the same feeling when i watched twilight.although a great director i think finding a new one for NEW MOON will be essential & find a second set of eyes to once, or twice over the script before filming is started.. Also the little bits of Twilight that were missing did have a GREAT impact the kiss, the dazzle. highly missed !! I LOVE the casting , great job there but i also feel everything was rushed, there courtship wasn’t long enough, like to see more time added and more detail . i think i speak for all fans when i say we would have sat in that theater for an extra 15-30 mins would have been simply AMAZING and VERY HELPFUL. I LOVE THE SERIES

  21. obsessed twilighter says:

geez..that was really fast…do u think they willsatrt filming soon?

  22. Dany says:

I really think they should have spent more time on the part when edward and bella fall in love.. i mean.. it happened so fast in the movie.. u couldnt really get the same feeling that u did with the book.. I would have sat there for 3 more hours if that was how long the movie was… instead of gaining fans… i think they lost some.. people were laughing when it really wasnt the point..

  23. amanda says:

I can not wait to see this movie ..I have reread this book so that I had more insite on what the movie should be like.. I hope they leave nothing out.. I dont care if its 8 hours long..lol.. I cant wait to see how the jacob so big that’ll be a trick.. I cant wait!!!

  24. Gabby says:

I hope that author, director, producers etc… will take fan comments seriously because the movie lacked in so many different ways. Fans are so passionate about the books that it does not matter how bad the movies are, we will go see them. I was soooo dissapointed with this movie and I don’t have high hopes for the next one BUT I will still pay to see it! So I hope that “they” make a great “New Moon” and not just a bad movie to make money.
We can only hope for the best…..

  25. Michelle says:

A FEW THINGS TO START WITH. i LOVED THE MOVIE BUT, THERE COULD’VE BEEN MORE DETAIL WITH EDWARD AND BELLA FALLING IN LOVE, THE KISS SHOULD’VE TAKEN PLACE INT THE MEADOW, AND IT COULD’VE BEEN LONGER. I WOULD’VE SAT ANOTHER 3 HOURS. I’M GLAD THAT THE SCRIPT FOR NEW MOON IS DONE! EXCITING! I AM REALLY EXCITED TO SEE WHAT NEW MOON TURNS OUT TO BE. NOW THAT THEY KNOW HOW BIG THE FANBASE IS AND ALSO SINCE THERE IS A BETTER BUDGET MAYBE THERE WILL BE MORE DETAIL. MAYBE MORE OF WHAT WE HAVE ALL COMMENTED ON. I’M NOT SURE ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE BUT I LOVED THE BASEBALL SCENE. THAT WAS AWESOME. DON’T KNOW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT THAT SCENE BUT AWESOME. I AM ALSO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE COMPLETION OF THE REST OF THE SERIES. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS COME ALIVE.

  26. Pau says:

All I can say that in New Moon it couldn’t be Taylor Lautner to look like he has grown big it will be much better if Steven Strait will be the older version of Jacob Black that would be much more exciting seeing Edward really got a competition and a big hunkamania of a werewolf worth for Bella to fall in love with..with Taylor I can’t even imagine Bella fall for him and the fact that in the eclipse book she did kiss him back….it will be much real if you see Steven Strait play the part, you will feel the threat there.

  27. Marci (major obsessed) says:

I agree the movie should have been 3 hours and all the details on the cullens would be there. We didn’t even see that Jasper controls emotions. And the meadow scene should have been exactly like Stephanies dream. No wonder she was upset by it. Out of all the changes that should have been the same as her dream. Also they kiss 4 times in the book and only kissed twice in the movie. And he never told her he loved her. I didn’t feel like they were in love.

  28. Jenn says:

the movie should be more than 3 hours. We need a little character in depth!

  29. Kim Kelley says:

I know everyone thinks that this is happening really fast, but I can let you on a little secret…..Melissa Rosenberg was already working on it before the movie came out. I went to the Austin Film Festival in early October and there was a Q&A with Melissa called “Adapting Twilight.” Melissa was asked if she was working on anything new and she stated that she was, but that she wasn’t allowed to talk about it……hint hint…..New Moon.
